Cover of the Week - Secret Warriors, Wolverine & GL: Emerald Warriors

Another week, another very strong set of covers to choose from. A wide variety to choose from for this edition of Cover of the Week, and I think you can see that in our choices: from the big event of War of the Green Lanterns, to some more quiet and intimate moments. Hit the jump to see them.

Matt & Ryan L.'s Covers of the Week - Secret Warriors #27 by Paul Renaud

Ryan L.: Sometimes simple really is best. The Spartan dress on these covers with the bottom white has long been a sell for the series but matched against such a simple image makes this cover pop. The other great quality of this cover is the timing. This is the second last issue and all they can show us is this gun. Seems like someone's going to die. Also, I want this gun. Badass fun.

Matt: I have to agree with Ryan. This cover is just damn perfect, and a great example of when less is more. What really sells this cover though is the subtle reflection of Nick Fury about to pick up the gun. Striking and ominous.

Kirk's Cover of the Week - Wolverine #9 by Jae Lee

Kirk:  Loved this cover. Jae Lee's covers can often times end up too similar to one another for my liking, but this one captures everything about the Wolverine and Mystique dynamic that Jason Aaron has created over the last few years.  This cover just works on so many levels and does the story and characters justice in a simple, yet provocative way.

Ken's Cover of the Week - Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #10 Variant by Clayton Crain

Ken: Clayton Crain is a good artist who uses way too many dark colors that hampers his output, but this cover works perfectly. This is the brightness level he should use for all his interior work.

Runner-Ups: Astonishing Wolverine & Spider-Man #6, Detective Comics #877, Venom #3
