It's the week of the big books for this installment of Moments of the Week as Batman continues to be the flagship DC book, Justice League shows why Superman is super, Fear Itself wraps up with Thor vs. The Serpent, and Ultimate Hawkeye drops a big last page reveal. All that plus Gorilla Man in Wolverine, general crazyness in Batman: Odyssey, and Wonder Woman shows why she's the best Amazon. All this and more after the jump!
Avengers #18
Jeez,
Wong, why are you so angry? Clearly a brawl between man servants is inevitable.
Mockingbrid's stink eye is her newest power from that super formula she was given, it's devastating only to other female Avengers members.
Steve, come on, there are going to be four Avengers titles soon, everyone and their parents can be Avengers now!
Batman #2
When the Court of Owls wants you dead, they want you dead. Lovely work by Greg Capullo with that panel of the glass breaking, and everything else in the issue, really.
You don't mess with Batman, because he can only act as Bruce Wayne for so long. This is without a doubt the best book being published right now, if you aren't reading it you're really missing out.
Batman: Odyssey #1
Do you like Neal Adams art? Do you also believe in the Expanding Earth theory? Then Batman Odyssey is the perfect comic for you!
Fear Itself #7
I couldn't have been the only one to think this scene reminds you of Disney's Sleeping Beauty movie, could I? Thor does the deed, striking down his uncle the Serpent....
...and seemingly dies in battles. So he'll be out of commission until April of 2012, because he has to be back in time for the Avengers movie.
And the Asgardians are back to where they were at the beginning of the series, with Odin locking himself away in Asgard, having lost his son and his brother.
Green Lantern Corps #2
Looks like Guy and John both have power levels over 9,000!
Isamot will grow back those limbs, no doubt, but what a bad way to start a mission. Nice touch by having the ring sit on his tongue.
Justice League #2
Superman is angry.
Superman is
really angry. So
Flash hightails it over to help out.
Nice. This issue really shows Superman can beat up anyone, which is a nice change of pace from being the guy who is usually the one always getting one-upped by other heroes.
Nightwing #2
And
Dick becomes not only heir to a billionaire's fortune, but also owner of the family circus.
And to celebrate Dick also joins the mile high club, he really is a sucker for redheads.
Ultimate Hawkeye #3
Best thing about
Ultimate Hulk? He's insecure sometimes.
And
Ultimate Xorn arrives, hopefully with a much less confusing orign.
Wolverine #17
Wolverine delivering food? Well, he is going back to school soon, needs to save up some money.
Gorilla Man vs. Wolverine, one of the best parts of Agents of Atlas in the Marvel Universe (Gorilla Man would win).
Wonder Woman #2
Cocky Diana is a fun change of pace, and the lovely art by Cliff Chiang on that two page splash shows a great smirk that I hope this new Wonder Woman always has.

Can't believe you didn't include the Superman breaking the chains double page spread.
That was the splash of the week for me, i paused on that image for well over 5 minutes looking at the detail Jim Lee put into it. Great, great image.
