Cover of the Week - Ultimates and Dark Shadows

If you've been on the lookout for the Covers of the Week, I'm happy to say that we have you covered.  Have I used that joke before?  I'm going to go with probably.  Should you be able to look past that faux pas, I'd encourage you to hit the jump where you'll find some maximum action, ebony umbras, and the week's runner-ups!

Ken's Cover of the Week - Ultimates #13 by Michael Komarck

Ken: Ultimate Cap is back, and he's so on top of his game he can catch bullets with his teeth. Either that or he brings a bullet to the battle and chews it like a piece of grass while he fights. It's still a great cover, because unlike other covers where the heroes have shocked or sad faces, the face  here is really expressive and actually has that action hero confidence that makes it stand out. It's a simple cover but it does everything right.

Grant's Cover of the Week - Dark Shadows #6 by Francesco Francavilla

Grant: There's a host of reasons that Francesco Francavilla won the Eisner for Best Cover Artist this year, and this is definitely one of them.  I haven't the first beginnings of a clue as to what this series from Dynamite is about, but hell if Francavilla doesn't make the whole thing pretty darn appealing!  The merging of the man and the skull is both awesome and terrifying, and Francavilla's distinctive colouring is put to excellent use here.  I really dig the atmosphere he manages to create in this piece.
