Welcome to another edition of
Cover of the Week. What have we got in store for you today? Four different bold covers that feature demons, murder, and brain surgery. Yes, you read that right, so hit the jump to see the winning covers.
Ryan L.'s Cover of the Week - Kill Shakespeare #12 by Andy Belanger
Ryan L.: This is the variant cover and it's a killer. This epic eye catcher is metal, it's hectic, it's detailed, it's awesome, and it's easily my cover of the week. This issue is the final issue of this maxi series and Belanger does a genius job of summing everything up in one image. Brilliant and nasty, I could look on in awe for days.
Grant's Cover of the Week - Batman Incorporated #8 by Chris Burnham
Grant: I really dig this cover. It's a brilliant scene, showing a digital Batman standing in the liminal space between the dark, gritty world he normally inhabits and the bright, electronic world of the information age. In that sense, it acts as the perfect introduction to the issue, depicting in one simple image what the comic is all about. It also doesn't hurt that it looks great - I'm especially partial to the circuit outline of the murder victim. Great stuff.
Matt's Cover of the Week - New Mutants #30 by Jason Pearson
Matt: I'm having a hard time quantifying why I like this cover so much. I never particularly liked the New Mutants that much, but even then, this cover makes me intrigued as to what's going on inside. I think what really sells this image, however, is the facial expressions of all the characters.
Ken's Cover of the Week - Deadpool #42 by Dave Johnson
Ken: Wade's brain definitely needs more bandages, but the Deadpool construction union probably skimped out on a few to pocket the difference. A good cover that isn't as gross as you would think when the titular character lifts the top of his head off.
