Cover of the Week - Superior Foes of Spider-Man and Venom

Welcome to your first Covers of the Week for July!  I hope the summer's pests haven't been bugging you too much, because we have a double order of arachnid-related action on the way for you today.  One features what could be some future spidery bad guys, while the other focuses on a former eight-legged villain.  Check these, along with your honourable mentions, out on the other side of the cut!

Ken's Cover of the Week - Superior Foes of Spider-Man #1 by Marcos Martin

Ken: Five B-list villains but they all seem happy, even with the evil Spider-Man shadow behind them. It's a cover that reflects the nature of the book, and shouldn't be misleading to anyone seeing it for the first time on a store's rack or in an online menu.

Grant's Cover of the Week - Venom #37 by Declan Shalvey

Grant: I love Declan Shalvey's covers.  He always puts so much care and polish into them, and this one for Venom #37 is no exception.  I dig how the telephone and power lines crisscross to form a type of urban web, and it's even better how Venom's stance makes him look like a man-sized spider.  My only complaint is that we don't (yet) have Shalvey on more interiors, because I know he'd kill those too!

Runner-Ups:  Deadpool Kills Deadpool #1, Catalyst Comix #1, Daredevil: Dark Nights #2
