The Weekly Crisis - Two Years Later Anniversary!

The Weekly Crisis is two years old today and in celebration of our two year anniversary, over the next week we are planning to give away four trade paperbacks in a series of contests, all as a thank you for your continued support of the blog.

You heard me right - using the funds from our Amazon.com Affiliates Store and the little bit of advertising money that has accrued over the past year, we are personally giving away four (4) critically acclaimed trades and hardcovers for this event. The prizes will be given out through a variety of different contests and include the Final Crisis hardcover, Joe Kelly's I Kill Giants, the first volume of Darwyn Cooke's Parker novel adaptations, Parker: The Hunter, and Jason Aaron's Scalped Vol. 1: Indian Country.

The purpose of these Two Years Later contests is to reward and say thanks to you, the readers, who have helped make the Weekly Crisis what it is today.

Details on what to expect and how to win after the jump.

What To Expect

Over the next five days, we will be posting various retrospective posts, similar to last year's One Year Later retrospects, in celebration of our second year's worth of posts here at the Weekly Crisis. These will be more than simple link lists of the past year's worth of posts and will hopefully serve as an introduction to new readers, a trip down memory lane for long time readers and a thank you to everyone.

These posts will be marked with the TYL tag and the image banners will bear the TYL logo to the left.

Finally, starting tomorrow, there will be a new contest every day, ending August 5th, for readers to enter and win the various prizes and trades.

Here’s How To Win

But first - to increase your chances of taking home some of these prizes, you’re going to want to subscribe to our RSS feed so that you’re up to date with the different competitions that we will be running (note - this is not a condition of entry - just a way to make sure you get all the updates you’ll need to participate). Not sure what RSS is? Check out this helpful RSS guide we've put together for more information.

The details:
  • Prizes will be won / given away in a series of different contests over the next week.

  • I'll be launching the first contest tomorrow.

  • The competitions will have a range of entry criteria. Some will simply be asking you to leave a comment to say that "you’re in". Others will require you to follow me on Twitter and look for a link to a contest page. Others, still, will require you to answer a simple question, such as what we can do to improve the Weekly Crisis or what your favourite part of the site is.

  • Contests run for one week and winners will be announced shortly after each contest ends.

  • Full contest rules & regulations can be found here.

So stay tuned - we’ll post the first contest tomorrow and will continue to update you on all of the opportunities to win in the days that follow.

Subscribe to our RSS feed and follow us on Twitter (Kirk, Ryan, Matt & Eric) to keep up to date and put yourself in a better position to win!
