Archives
Note: As the Archives have proven to be too difficult to manually update (we run on free Blogger, which has no backend support for auto updating of the archives when posts are made), I'll be discontinuing the Archives. Going forward, the best way to keep up with older content is to check in on our TMC - The Monthly Crisis month-in-review posts that contain links to all of our content for the previous month. I'm currently looking into a paid hosting solution which would allow us to use database support for archives, but this would require a site redesign and a huge time committment on my part. You can still find older content beyond July 2009 in the old archives below, but new content will only be updated in the TMC posts moving forward.

The Weekly Crisis Presents The Best of 2007 Comic Book Awards
Every New Years, websites all around the web roll out their annual "Best of" or awards posts and I had always wanted to do one of my own without getting drowned out in the usual comic book forum posts.
While the Weekly Crisis wasn't even a year old at the time, I had been reading all year long and last year, at the end of December, I finally got my chance.
After a lot of time and effort researching what came out, who did what, and so on, I managed to cobble together my first ever "Best of" awards post and I was quite proud of it, to say the least.
2007 Comic Book Holiday Gift Guide
Like many of my posts, the 2007 Holiday Gift Guide was the first time I had ever put together a post like that and it gave me a new found appreciation for the other websites that put together their own versions of these for various topics and genres. It was A LOT of work finding links and prices to the items that were coming out that holiday or for old time favourites, some of which are out of print.
On top of that, I had to find pictures, write up the summaries and my personal opinions on why I was recommending each product. It was definitely a learning experience and something I hope to improve upon this year.
Comic Book Moments of the Week for 09/12/07
What's so special about the 09/12/07 edition of my favourite column? Well, that marks the first edition of the Moments of the Week and a date I'm sure many people will be committing to memory now that it's been brought to their attention. =p
In all seriousness, I love reading comics and I live for the very images I post every week in the MotW and finding the moments of comics I don't read on various image and message boards typically leads me to picking up new books I never would have considered based solely on the moments I find. For instance, I never would have picked up Nextwave, if you can believe it, if I had never saw the moments posted every time an issue came out on boards like Penny Arcade's Graphic Violence.
In fact, the Graphic Violence board is one of the many I frequent and is where I originally
The Usual Skrullspects
This was one of the first non-review based articles I ever did for the Weekly Crisis and one I am particularly proud of. It lists all the potential Skrull imposter suspects with the fun betting odds predictions for whether they're a Skrull or not.
On top of that, I still think I'm going to end up being proved right about Dr Strange, who I chose as my top candidate for Skrullification, and my second choice, Black Bolt, has already been revealed to be a Skrull.
The article was a lot of fun to write, received a lot of hits, relatively speaking, for my fledgling blog and gave me the confidence to keep trying those types of articles over the past year, making this one of my favourite posts.
