Jason Aaron on Original Outline for Ast. Spider-Man & Wolverine
I have proclaimed my love for Jason Aaron on repeated occasions, and just hearing what could have been on his X-Position interview makes me eager for a sequel to Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine. I mean, New World Avengers set in pre-Colombian America? Sign me the hell up! (and it would have been a nice way to tie it with his Ghost Rider work). That would have been on top of everything that was already in the book.
And make no mistake, Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine was already one of the craziest stories set in the Marvel Universe. Peter and Logan go globe AND time trotting visiting all kinds of locales and eras, arguing and bonding all the way to the end. You might remember I posted Adam Kubert's Doom The Living Planet some time back. It's also seriously one of the best stories I have ever read. No ground-shaking events, no "nothing will ever be the same!, or countless tie-ins, just some really solid fun and character work. I highly recommend it to any fan of the characters, and you should definitely pre-order the hardcover
coming out in August.
