Sometimes, a writer has an idea so big that it cannot be held by a regular comic book. Take, for example, Doom The Living Planet, which recently appeared in the Astonishing Spider-Man/Wolverine mini series.
Written by Jason Aaron, and illustrated by Adam Kubert, this bad boy here is a three (3) page spread, detailing the new visage of everyone's favorite Latverian dictator. Make sure to click the full size image to get the immensity of it, and if you are not reading this series, you are missing out on some good old fashioned comic book fun.

This is why this book only comes out bi-monthly.
I read the first 3 issues of Astonishing Spider-man/Wolverine and honestly I wasn't too impressed. The art by Kubert, as you show, is nothing short of spectacular but the story just felt lacking. All flash and little substance. I liked the first issue a lot but 2 and 3 just bored me. Other than Doom the Living Planet I wasn't too Astonished. Doom the Living Planet was the best part of those 3 issues and now he's gone so I didn't mind dropping it.
And yet, his body STILL isn't large enough to contain his ego...
