Ryan: After I swore off this title for good after issue #8, the glowing reviews for issue #10 sucked me back in. Much to my surprise, I actually really dug that issue. I’ve got my fingers crossed that the good vibes will continue with this issue, though with Morrison these days every issue is a gamble.

Ryan: The first two installments of the Red Robin/Batgirl crossover were a lot of fun, so I’m expecting the same with this issue. Of course, with Chris Yost and Marcus To handling the creative end of things, I can’t imagine it will be anything but awesome!

Ryan: I’ve been trying really hard to avoid getting caught up in new titles that will only make my pull list grow, but after seeing the awesome premise of this series and the gorgeous preview art from Dustin Weaver, there is no way I could avoid this series. This grand experiment is either going to be a colossal misstep or the biggest surprise to come out of Marvel this year!

Ryan: I had honestly completely forgotten about this series in the time between the last issue and this week’s release. That is a total bummer on my part as this miniseries was one of my favorite books to launch in the last year. Forgotten or not, this should be awesome as Gary Frank is the best Superman artist of the modern era and Geoff Johns has been on a roll as of late.

Ryan: I only picked up the last issue of Ultimate Comics X on the strength of the art by Arthur Adams, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it was the single best issue that Jeph Loeb had written since jumping over to Marvel from DC. Can they go 2 for 2? I sure hope so as I’d hate to blow the Ultimate Comics price of $4 on a stinker issue.
UNCANNY X-MEN #523Written by Matt Fraction

The race to find Cable and Hope is on, but who will get to them first? Will it be Cyclops and the X-Men or Bastion and his mutant-hating cabal? Cyclops isn't waiting for the answer to that as he takes the fight directly to Bastion with the New Mutants!
Ryan: Second Coming kicked off in a big way last week, which really ups the ante for this second issue. Kudos to Marvel for putting their best foot forward early on in the crossover with Matt Fraction and Terry Dodson, though I can’t help but think by the solicitation that this one should be taking place in the New Mutants title (which I thought I had been cancelled months ago—my bad!).

Shield and Weapon X from Marvel.
I've finally started to give Weapon X a read. I think it's proved itself at this point.
On a side note; I had taken a break from comics for the last couple weeks. I'm glad to be back :)
Morrison´s B&R is absolutely madness. Morrison´s writing was excellent until R.I.P.
Now it´s getting a second breath after that lame second story arc.
I think he uses Dick Grayson (kill this character already, please?) in these crazy stories because there´s no way Bruce could fit in them.
Any of you believe Didio said to Morrison "Look Grant! Here´s your own title: Batman & Robin! there you can make all your crazy stuff and leave the Batman title accesible for someone not looking for madness!"
Still, I like Morrison, and I can´t wait to see his Batman work as a whole!
S.H.I.E.L.D. hits stores this week and what else needs to be said. Could not be more stoked for this title. Hate to expect too much, usually only leads to disappointment, but I don't think this one is going to stray too far from what I want it to be.
Lucho - I doubt that they would create a book just for Morrison to run wild, only to hand the main Bat-Book over to Tony Daniel to write his amateurish hackneyed stories.
"Gary Frank is the best Superman artist of the modern era" ? I respectably disagree. Frank Quitely - All-Star Superman. totally with you about SHIELD #1 though.

Oh SHIELD, what can I say that haven't already covered. This book should help wash the taste of a slightly disappointing March out of my mouth. I also have Demo #4 in my stack. If any of ya'll haven't given that book a try yet I would highly recommend it. It's an exquisite little run of vignettes and mood pieces.
Morrison's Batman is so cool. Best book out there.
@EG - I'm actually not a huge fan of Quitely. The only book I really liked him on was We3. Otherwise his bulbous character designs and inconsistent scale (character change size a lot with Quitely) just really grate on me. Half of the time his Superman looked really good, but the other half, he looked like a parade balloon.
@RS: i know what you mean but his prime offender to me was his Authority run. I only managed two issues of it and i was thinking, "Is this the same Frank Quitely from All Star Superman?" And yes, this is despite you mentioning you weren't a big fan of his art in all star superman.
Btw,didn't you have to read Batman and robin first arc with Quitely on it to get into it in the first place?
To me, Quitely's worst work was actually his New X-Men run. To this day, I still can't figure out why half of the characters were Asian most of the time, but not all of the time. Yowza.
His Batman & Robin run wasn't that bad actually. There were a few things here and there that I didn't care for, but I thought it alright. To me, even though that was amongst his better work, it is only middle of the road compared to many other artists out there that don't get all the hype Quitely does.
Sorry this comes late but First and foremost I think Quitely is still a favorite but i can understand the mash potatoe problem you have with him. My prime offense with him though that he draws his women all the same. Well, at least in the case of WE3, that book of magic mini he did, and All Star superman. I'm talking about the Louis Lane model in case i lost you.
