Comic Book Moments of the Week for 12/31/13

 

The last week of 2013 was again light thanks to the end of year holidays, but there's still something to see in this edition of Moments of the Week. We have Superman Unchained looking to wrap up its initial arc, Angela and Gamora compete to kick the most butt in Guardians of the Galaxy, the New Avengers look through a mirror, and alien stereotypes are thrown aside in Manhattan Projects. Guardians of the Galaxy #10

Angela takes on a Badoon slave ship, while Gamora sticks to helping the slaves from a mindless fighter:

Kevin Maguire really needs to stay on this book.

Mystery, as the hereto unknown species Angela is from might not be so hidden.


Manhattan Projects #17

A nice, polite alien, simply looking for a way to escape the world Einstein and Feinman travel to? It's going to end badly, isn't it?

With Westmoreland taking over the MP, the lock on that alien's cell was unlocked, and we see what the experiements created:

New Avengers #13.INH

 The Bridge returns from Hickman's FF run, and the team looks in on what is happening on Earth 23099, who are fighting their own incursion against some pretty tough "humans"

These beings are called the Black Priests, what appears to be sixteen beings of pretty strong power. As for anything connecting to Inhumanity, there was something about this other earth's Inhumans but that was about it, it's just another NA issue.

Superman Unchained #5

Rock Candy, in a much more destructive form, as Ascension wants to essentially send humanity back in time to erase any outside alien influence Wraith and his technology had on the world. Meanwhile, Wraith and Superman are at the Fortress of Solitude talking about their connection to this world and protecting it:
