Oxymoron HC Anthology On Kickstarter

There's a great new Kickstarter just going live now which I am really excited about.* The Oxymoron Anthology is a series of short tales about a new villain from ComixTribe called The Oxymoron, natch. He debuted in The Red Ten and response was so strong publisher and creator Tyler James thought he needed his own spin off anthology and so here we are with pre-orders of this thick volume available on Kickstarter for just $25. It's A Pre-Order Campaign

The Oxymoron Anthology isn't looking for handouts, it just wants to get into your hands.

For $25, add ten dollars for international, you can get this fine hardcover volume including nine tales from a variety of up and coming comic creators. This product is the real deal, it's nearly finished, and so you get to use Kickstarter to preorder a book you know will eventuate and ship straight to you. $25 is a great price for a hardcover volume containing so many stories, plus additional material. In fact, I'd wager this is cheaper than the general HCs available at stores.

It's More Than A Pre-Order Campaign

ComixTribe have added a slew of other incentives and perks to get you to lay down your money and sample great new comics. Again, the money doesn't disppear, every dollar they ask for returns something substantial to you.

For $35 you get the HC with an artist sketch inside.

For $49 you get the HC with sketch and the t-shirt and three prints.

For $199 you get the HC with sketch, all three t-shirts, all three prints, three buttons, as well as every book ComixTribe has laid down to date - which is 9 single issues, three trades, and two art books.

This is all content for the audience to buy into and for a good price. Then there are two other very interesting deal that should grab some attention. One is for retailers and the other people keen on supporting indie comics for many a year to come.

For $169 a retailer can buy 15 copies of the HC - that's about $10 a copy plus postage and a steal in anyone's book.

For $999 you become a ComixTribe Life Member and the publisher will send you everything they ever publish for the rest of your life. Who knows how much value that will turn out to be. It's a crazy incentive but I'd love to see someone make the investment and take them up on it.

Who Is The Oxymoron?

The Oxymoron is the villain of the title The Red Ten. He's like that title's version of the Joker. His schtick is he uses oxymorons. This character is intensely devious and insanely hilarious. To channel such a character, the creative teams have dredged up some of the nastiest things they could muster.

As an anthology, this book works because the stories are still varied in tone but you know you are getting clever writing mixed with terrible thoughts. Because the focus is one character you have a better chance of all the stories working for you, rather than a smattering of genres and styles that might not always grab you. If this book is up your alley then it will be for its entirety.

Further Incentives

The campaign already has plenty to spend your money on but as an insider I can tell you there is plenty more to come. As most of the audience has come to expect by now, the campaign has to stay fresh and new incentives are always fun. There will be more unique opportunities made available as more fundraising is successful and unlocks these cool additions.

New incentives added to the campaign won't necessarily affect your HC purchase so there is no need to wait on that front. There are other kinds of perks to be added and perhaps if the money truly skyrockets then other great additions can be outlaid for the backers much like Sullivan's Sluggers was able to do with its extra cashflow.
