The fifth episode of the writing podcast, The Process. Hosted by Kurtis J. Wiebe (Intrepids, Green Wake), Ryan K Lindsay (CBR) and Jeremy Holt (Joy Hog), The Process takes aim at the comic writing industry with the high hope of tackling a stack of interesting topics from collaboration to publication.
Intro – Ryan sets the scene and also throws down a challenge for any artist out there to step up to.
Wow Factor – A discussion about our favourite comic moments of the week, be it a specific panel, page or collection of pages. This episode Jeremy drops some gratuitous F-bombs to properly discuss Butcher Baker, Kurtis branches out of the indie world with Batwoman #1 and Ryan goes super retro with Dazzler: Enter Galactus.
Progress Report – The gents chat about their victories in personal writing projects and Kurtis talks about his recent experiences as a full time writer working with
Day 21 Studios and new aspirations for tackling another novel, Jeremy talks about a business meeting with a potential investor for his projects and Ryan makes a sale on a short film screenplay as well as a quick chat about a potential Process team meeting at ECCC in 2012.
Grill ‘Em! – We open the floor to you the listener.
Nolan from Gmail: At what point does the time and energy of a project put you in a place where you highly suggest to others, “LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES!”? In other words, what were your biggest time sinks that you’d advise others to avoid?”
The Process – The heart of The Process series where the hosts talk about their personal spin on the creative development of their projects. The Art of the Artist Search: What are the most important things to consider about your project when looking for an artist?
The Roundtable – An open talk about a random comic related topic, this week the boys discuss revisions. When does it become detrimental to the process? How important is a Script Editor and/or Proof Reader?
Wrap It – Kurtis drops a choice quote that should mean a lot to nascent writers.
Enjoy!
