Moment of the Day - A Little Respect, Please
Astro City #10, by Kurt Busiek and Brent Anderson
Astro
City is one of those great series that is a love letter to superheroes,
but you can only really appreciate it having read comics for a few
years. Here, the villain Junkman gets himself caught simply so that the
public would be aware of all his great heists that were previously
unknown. He's not a killer, he's not plotting world domination, he just
wants people to realize his brilliance in besting the heroes of the
world. So simple, yet so good.

I've never read a comic series where every single issue has left me thinking, "Man, I'm glad I bought that."
Is Brent Anderson's art gorgeous ... No. Does it effectively tell the story and fit the tone of the book ... YES! It isn't just about who is the best artist but are they the right fit. I had this argument about Wonder Woman #1. I thought the art was a great match for that story while others just complain that he isn't a big enough name for WW. Bah!
