Cover of the Week - Daredevil: Reborn, PunisherMAX & FF

Welcome to another edition of Cover of the Week. We have a surprisingly strong set of covers this week, and I am sure there will be those who disagree, but Ryan, Kirk, Ken and myself have thrown our gauntlets to decide who had the best cover this week. Let us know if the comment section below

Matt & Ryan L.'s Covers of the Week - Daredevil: Reborn #4 by Jock

Ryan L.: Man, this comic might be a whole bag of hammers but there's no doubting this cover is gorgeous. The two things that get me are the fact the shadow has the old school yellow symbol and that said symbol is made up of lights in that building being turned on. That's cool. The whole angle of this cover makes me wish the comic inside was anywhere near decent. It is not. REPEAT: it is not.

Matt: Jock has been knocking it out of the park with his covers to the DD: Reborn series, and this one is probably the most striking of them all. The crazy angle, the negative space, and the heavy use of shadows all blend it to create one really great cover.

Kirk's Cover of the Week - Punishermax #13 by Steve Dillon

Kirk: I liked the yin yang like design of this cover juxtaposing Frank Castle's time in the military with his current incarceration in prison.  It's a pretty simple design and not as flashy or fancy as some of the other Covers of the Week I've chosen in my time, but I found this one worked really well, especially in context to the content of the issue.

Ken's Cover of the Week - FF #3 by Daniel Acuna

Ken: Your eyes go from the big, bold white "FF" letters to Reed screaming, and then you see the Reeds, who are mighty cross that Reed didn't bring his deposit for the ice cream social. It also shows that having super stretchy powers doesn't really help when you're being dragged down. A nice cover that primarily uses two colors to get your eye.

Runner-Ups: Batgirl #21, Cinderella: Fables are Forever #4, Journey into Mystery #623

I half-disagree about the DAREDEVIL: REBORN cover. I think it's fantastic artwork by Jock, but as a cover it makes no attempt to intrigue me with the content of the issue, and I think that should be any good cover's point.

@Anon - interesting point. I usually prefer a cover where I know what the book inside is. It helps to remember what you have read that way but it just doens't happen a lot anymore, sadly.

As a piece of art, this cover is awesome. That's why it gets my vote.
