Cover of the Week - Ultimate Captain America & Annihilators

This week was marked by some big important comic book events, with Fear Itself starting proper and Brightest Day racing towards the end, but oddly enough neither of these comics managed to get the coveted Cover of the Week award. Thousands of readers? Who wants that when you can get the appreciation of two bloggers, am I right? The real winners this week are after the jump.

Ryan L.'s Covers of the Week - Ultimate Comics Captain America #4 by Ron Garney and Jason Keith

Ryan L.: This series really hasn't lived up to the premise of some of the covers. I have not enjoyed this mini at all, and am glad it's only 4 issues because I could not have followed Jason Aaron any further into this well. But with a cover like this, how can you say no? This thing is awesome for so many reasons but the thing I keep coming back to is the reflection in the blood. How about that, right? There's a lot of America dying in this cover, I wonder if the issue will follow suit? I'd love for Ultimate Cap to die. Seriously.

Matt's Cover of the Week -Annihilators #2 by Guy Davis

Matt: I really hope I don't have to explain to anyone why this cover is awesome. As a side note, last week's cover was for an issue that came out this week. Woops, my bad.Go look at it though, it's still awesome.

Runner-Ups: Deadpool Family #1, Solomon Kane: Red Shadows #1, Sweet Tooth #20

I'm PRETTY positive thats not an alan davis cover! Can tell instantly from Groot's face who the actual artist is.. Wicked badass choice though!

Nice picks!
Are you sure the second one isn't by Guy Davis, though? It really looks like Guy Davis' work.

@Ted

You're good! It is a Guy Davis cover. Great cover and great Rocket/Groot story.
