Crisis On Infinite Arts - Nic Klein's New Viking Cover

Nic Klein only just received his own Infinite Arts post so consider this one an update. He has just put up on his blog two very important images. One is a 100% digital painting with the Viking cover dress on it, and the other is a process GIF of how he got there. Considering Viking hasn't been published for about a year now and Klein and Ivan Brandon have been busy collaborating elsewhere, I am intrigued to know if this heralds a return. I really liked the series and would love to see it come back. Look after the jump for a larger version of the cover and the GIF that shows you incremental stages of such a great work of art, as well as leaked words from the artist himself.

Will this be the cover for Viking - Season Two? Click to see it in massive glory.

I wish every artist had GIFs like this to show how they got to the final creation. Click the image to see the GIF-style goodness of motion.

There hasn't been any official word about Viking but if Klein has time to work on this it must be for a reason, right?

He told me on Twitter: no concrete plans yet, but @ivanbarndon and I definetly want to do a season 2 down the road...

I live in hope and enjoy the art as it comes down.
