You might remember that I have talked about
Black Label Comics on a previous occasion, and friend of the site
Ian Struckhoff continues to produce independent comics, funding them from his own pocket, and via the use of Kickstarter. The one he is currently working on is
The Dark Age #1, and we here at
The Weekly Crisis have teamed up with him to offer you a chance to win a copy of it. And because you demanded it, this contest is worldwide, so anyone may enter! Hit the jump to see all the details of how you can win.
Detective Sandra Cash knows she lives in a bad place, but only when she meets the mysterious Nero does she begin to understand the impossible truth about her city-- and her world.
That's the summary/solicit of the comic in question. I've read portions of it before, and it's an incredibly compelling and interesting story. The art is gritty and dark, the kind you would expect in a crime tale. There is, however, a deeper element to it all, that you would have to read the full issue to learn.
As I mentioned in the intro, the latest comic that Ian is working on is The Dark Age #1, and as of today the project has been completely funded, so it will definitely be made. However, unexpected costs have appeared, so any additional funding will go towards that.To that extent, we are carrying out this contest to raise awareness and spread the word about it. What you will win is the equivalent to an $18 pledge, as detailed on their Kickstarter page.
The Prize
Your own copy from the first print run of The Dark Age #1, signed by the writer. (Includes shipping and packing to anywhere in the world.) Plus digital copies of our other comics, and a limited edition postcard print.
Entering The Contest
Entering the contest is incredibly simple, all you have to do is leave a comment below with your name and email address, and you will be automatically entered with one entry. That's it, it's that simple!
But wait, there's more!
If you would like to
double your opportunities to win, all you have to do is help spread the word about the contest and the
Kickstarter page. You can do this in anyway that is comfortable to you, posting a message about it in a forum, your blog, Tumblr, Facebook, or Twitter page. As long as it's a public message (meaning, anyone should be able to read it) and it contains links to both this contest and the Kickstarter page, it counts! Just make sure that when you enter your name, and your email, you also include a direct link to wherever it was that your shared the information. This will give you two (2) entries into the contest. The message can be as simple as RTing or copying my Twitter message
found here.
But wait, there's even more!
You can also
triple your opportunities to win! If you donate the minimum pledge of $3 to the
Kickstarter page of The Dark Age #1, you will get three (3) entries into the contest. All you have to do is make sure to let us know you donated money in the comment where you leave your name, and your email. The email should be the same one that you used to donate into Kickstarter, because I will be verifying all claims with Ian (so no cheating!).
It is important to note that this third option stacks with the second one. So what that means is that if you donate $3 AND share the information about the contest, you will get five (5) entries!
If you have any questions, do let me know in the comment section! And now for the legal part...

@Shariq: I saw that you RTed my message on Twitter.
Everyone else: remember to let me know if you have shared the message elsewhere or collaborated to the Kickstarter, otherwise you won't get the multiple entry!
