Elephantmen #25 Giveaway

This week, Richard Starkings’s epic sci-fi comic, Elephantmen reaches its 25th issue. The issue tells the history of the titular Elephantmen through a series of beautiful splash pages from some of the hottest artists today and is the perfect jumping on point for new readers.

In honor of this occasion (and because I have an extra copy), I will be giving away a copy of this comic to one lucky Weekly Crisis reader. Want to know how this issue can be yours? Hit the jump for more details!

Elephantmen follows the suriving human/animal hybrids that were bred to be walking weapons of mass destruction in a devestating war.  Freed and rehabilitated by the United Nations, the Elephantmen now live amongst a human race that could never  understand them in a world they were never meant for.  Unfortunately for them, the war never ended, even if they don't realize it yet.

This sci-fi epic has been one of my favorite comics for the last few years and has earned numerous awards since it began.  In honor of its 25th issue and the recent annoucement that it has been optioned as a film, I want to bring one lucky reader into this hauntingly beautiful sci-fi world with a copy of this week's Elephantmen #25.

  • To enter, leave a comment with your name, email address, and your favorite animal as a comment below.
  • One (1) winner will be chosen from random from the comments below.
  • The winner will receive one (1) copy of Elephantmen #25, bagged and boarded with loving care by me.
  • Please, only one entry per person. We don’t like liars and cheaters here at the Weekly Crisis and we won’t accept any of your tomfoolery.
  • The contest is open to residents of Canada and the US only. Sorry overseas folks!
  • The contest runs from April 20th through April 27th. The winner will be contacted by email and will have one week to respond with their mailing information. Failure to do so means that I’m sending the comic to someone else!

If you’ve never checked out Elephantmen, now is the time. Issue #25 features contributions from some of the best artists in comics today, including Pia Guerra, Moritat, Tim Sale, Ladronn, and the legendary Dave Gibbons. This issue is very friendly to new readers, so even if you don’t win, you should check it out!

Thanks in advance for your entries and best of luck to all!

While I can't enter this giveaway (what with being part of the site and all), but I did want to mention that I recently checked out the first issue of this series, which was free on Comixology. It seriously impressed me, and I'm going to be ordering the trades sometime in the future.

@Ivan - bah, that's not the spirit. Turn your frown upside down, brother.

@Grant - dude, the honeybadger is the serious stealth king of the jungle, I've been saying this for years. It has no real known predators (and I don't care what you nerds out there dig up on the net, I said, it has NO known predators). That's a pretty hardcore animal, great choice!

*Note - just because I like your animal is no guarantee that you'll win anything. Ever.

@ Ivan-Yeah, I know. No love for people outside of North America. :(

I've always had a bit of an obsession with rhinos since the football coach at my old high school tried to goad me into joining the team because "I'm built like a rhino" too bad I was halfway through senior year lol.

Man, I can't believe someone chose the manatee. That was my favorite animal when I was a little kid. I told my wife that and now she is never going to let me live it down.

Ryan Schrodt said...

I've always been to rhinos myself, though I also love any primate. Visiting the primate compound at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago pretty much changed my life.

My favorite answer I've seen so far is the guy who said Thundercats. That is so awesome.
