I am not actually sure if this is a pin up of Thor when he was converted in a frog during Walt Simonson's run on the title, or if it is a pin up of the more recent character Throg, which is a completely different person that was turned into a frog version of the Thunder God. In any other medium, that sentence would be completely ludicrous, but comics are awesome like that, and so is the illustrator of this image, Colleen Coover.
Colleen Coover ( Home Page | Twitter ) is an artist who's first major work was writing and drawing her comic Small Favors, published by Eros Comics, an adults-only self-described "girly porno comic". Despite being a porn comic, it was praised for it's lightheartedness, a trait that Coover would transplant to later works, such as the all-ages book Banana Sunday.
Recently, she has been working for Marvel comics, providing back up tales for titles like X-Men: First Class, Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers and other assorted titles, as well as providing illustration to a varity of magazines. She is member of Periscope Studios, and she frequently collaborates with fellow Oregon-based writers like Jeff Parker or with her husband Paul Tobin. The couple is currently working in an graphic novel called Gingerbread Girl, but in the meantime, hit the jump to see more of Coover's artwork.

I can't believe no one has commented on this yet. I love Colleen Coover's art, it cartoony and cute, perfect for lighthearted and entertaining stories (I have only seen her Marvel work, not her independent work so maybe I'm wrong). I just wish we can see more of her work in Marvel (also, I love how she draws the Scarlet Witch)
