Cover of the Week - Guardians of the Galaxy and Daredevil

Ryan Lindsay and I take a shot at our favourite covers this week.  My choice?  Guardians of the Galaxy's Magus flavoured cover.  Ryan went with a Deadpool variant for this week's Daredevil.  Hit the jump to see each and to find out why they were chosen.

Kirk's Cover of the Week - Guardians of the Galaxy #23

Kirk: Few covers have had me anticipating the contents of an issue as much as this Magus cover to Guardians of the Galaxy.  Add the unique perspective and beautiful rendition of the evil-Adam Warlock and it was hard to choose any other cover for this week.

Ryan Lindsay's Cover of the Week - Daredevil #505 (Deadpool Variant)

Ryan L.:  I dislike the holistic takeover by Deadpool as much as the next guy, however you can't argue that he doesn't have a place. This is a good riff on an old and classic Frank Miller cover and it made me laugh. I'd stop to check this one out.

Runners-Up: Blackest Night: Flash #3 (Kolins Variant), Guardians of the Galaxy #23 (Deadpool Variant) & Mice Templar: Destiny #7

I actually like Deadpool.. I'm glad he's getting his shine, he's like the sadistic Spiderman.... Oh and mark my words, I think he's going to be on one of the Avenger teams...

Urk..DP as an Avenger? I don't really think there's a place for that kind of comedy there, but we'll see.

Shame the interior of Guardians didn't look that good.

I love the Flash cover. Its pure superhero joy.

I can't imagine anyone being able to write a well rounded Avenger team with Deadpool on it. I certainly doubt it'll be Brubaker to do it, so if Bendis wants to have a crack that's fine with me because I won't be picking up his Avengers anyway.

Power Girl had the best cover for me, but GotG really does have an amazing cover and content this week.

Didn't get to contribute this week, but my pick for CoTW would have been Black Widow: Deadly Origin. Adi Granov is the best at drawing any kind of armor or metalic suits, and it was such a fun sci-fi cover.

I know it's lazy of me, but is there any way you might include the artists of said pieces when doing these? I'm always intrigued and often can't readily find the information online.

Beyond that, I think it's also nice to be able to give credit where credit's due, y'know? :)

@Jonathan_R - We sometimes mention artists for the covers, but more often than not, take the easy way out and just post our impressions. I'll see what we can do to start including the cover artist in the future.

The regular DAREDEVIL cover was, easily, my cover of the week. Nothing earthshattering...just a well done cover.

@smketky Yeah, I liked that DD cover but it seemed a little over processed, the lines too simple, to get across the line for me. Overall, though, based on solicits, I am liking the Japanese themed covers.

I love that DD / Deadpool cover, even though it's based on one of my favourite covers from FM's original DD run.
