Crisis on Infinite Arts - Marcio Takara's Ms. Marvel

Careful readers might remember that I love the character of Ms. Marvel. I was a big fan of her series early on, and I even mentioned her as one of my favorite female super heroes in my very first post here in the Weekly Crisis. Sadly, I stopped reading her title after she "died" (she got better, what a surprise!) and she was replaced by Moonstone. The above image is a great and iconic rendering of the character (even if the waist does look a little too thin) done by Marcio Takara.

Marcio Takara ( Home Page | DeviantArt ) is a relatively new talent to the industry, originally from Brazil though currently residing in Canada. His style is a nice mix of influences that resembles the straight lines and geometrical looks of other artists such as Bruce Timm, Ryan Ottley, and Stuart Immonen while still carrying it's own individual feel. Takara has worked in small projects for Marvel and Image in the past, and is currently illustrating The Incredibles for Boom! Studios, working with industry legend Mark Waid.

I am sure we will be hearing more form this artist in the future, and make sure to visit his DeviantArt page which features pin ups of a wide array of characters. In the mean time, hit the jump to see more of his artwork.

Where's Ms Marvel's waist? Her face is beautiful but her anatomy is bizarre.

@Matthew: I do agree that the thin waist looks odd, but at least he didn't give Ms. Marvel some double D's breast like other artists do.
