The above cover image, by Rafael Albuquerque, was added to his deviantart page yesterday and also featured in the Cup O'Q&A with Joe Quesada over at Comic Book Resources. At first, I thought nothing of it other than that it was a great cover and a shame Albuquerque wasn't doing the interiors on Amazing Spider-Man.
However, after reading the description for the piece by Albquerque, I came across the following (emphasis mine):
Cover for a new Spiderman title. Background art was made by someone else (sorry, dont know who is the guy), inked and colored by myself. Foreground image, all mine.
New Spider-Man title? Just a slip up by Albuquerque? Did he just mean a new storyline? Curious and curiouser. The mystery continues after the jump.
After mentioning the above on Twitter, fellow Weekly Crisis writer, Matt Ampersand, pointed out a conversation he had with Vikings's writer, Ivan Brandon, regarding a future project where he asked Brandon if Rafael Albuquerque would be doing the interiors, to which Brandon replied that he was, but they did not know when the project would be announced.
Furthermore, Brandon went on to tell Matt that he would be "bringing back a character from one of my favorite marvel miniseries."
Is the above Spider-Man image and description by Albuqeurque a simple mistake or confirmation of an Ivan Brandon and Rafael Albuqeurque Spider-Man miniseries? Let us know what you think in the comments below. I know I'm all for anything Spider-Man related from Albuquerque, so this please the Kirk.

God I hope this is true. I've been clamoring for something decent to come from Spidey. Aside from the recent Joe Kelly issue (Lady Stilt-Man!) its been a lot of crap to wade through. If Marvel isn't doing this, they need to, and soon.
It's very likely that this is just going to be a mini series, as I don't think they are going to add another new ongoing so soon after Web of Spider-Man.
Enough. Spiderman should be only ASM 3 times and week and that´s all!
Primewax, Marvel already has two great Spider-man titles, Ultimate Comics and Marvel Adventures Spider-man.
I normally don't pick up spider-man but if Rafael Albuguerque is doing it......
Isn't Albuquerque supposed to be doing a new Vertigo ongoing? Or has something changed and I've not heard anything?
@wirehead4ever - both of those series are indeed excellent. I'd like for the actual in-continuity titles to be up to far to those. I'm also digging the rewrite of the Clone Saga.
