Cover of the Week - Thor & Amazing Spider-Man

This week's Cover of the Week has our choices narrowed to Thor and a Wolverine art appreciation variant of Amazing Spider-Man. You can check them out on the flipside and feel free to let us know what your Cover of the Week was.

Kirk's Cover of the Week - Thor #601

Kirk: Reminds me of the old Spider-Man covers with Peter walking away from his costume. Love how it tells you everything you need to know about the issue in one simple picture - Thor is leaving Asgard. Just a top notch cover that does everything right.

Matt's Cover of the Week - Amazing Spider-Man #592 Wolverine Art Appreciation Month Variant

Matt: I love Salvador Dali. I have even been to the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg (Florida, not Russia). This cover is absolutely perfect in emulating Dali's mad style from later in his life. While I didn't buy this book, I will definitely be buying the collection that the Hero Initiative is going to release of all these Wolverine art covers.

Runners-Up: Immortal Iron Fist #25, Thor #601 (variant) & New Avengers #52

Any takers as to what Thor's listening to in that variant cover?

MC Hammer of course.

Thor is obviously listening to Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song

"We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!"

And that other Thor cover reminded me more of that X-Men cover where Cyclops is leaving the team in the background (Uncanny X-Men #137)

I was putting Thor's iPod as some Queen. Maybe Bohemian Rhapsody or Ogre Battle or some such.

This isn't just my loathing of Wolverine (and his endless appearances) talking, but shouldn't a Spider-Man cover feature...oh, I don't know...SPIDER-MAN! I know they're trying to promote the upcoming movie, but do they even need help at this point?

Thor is listening to AC/DC - Thunderstruck

Just another example of Marvel selling-out.
But still, surely they could have made covers featuring both their beloved Wolverine as well as the title character of the comic book!

Thor is surely listening to Metallica's Ride the Lightning
