Cover of the Week - Green Lantern, Wizard of Oz & Timestorm 2099

This week's Cover of the Week winners come from three different sources. Matt greedily grabbed onto the Larfleeze adorned Green Lantern cover while Eric went with Skottie Young's beautifully drawn Wizard of Oz. Me? I ended up going with Marvel's revisiting of the 2099 universe with Timestorm 2009-2099's cover. Hit the jump for a look see and some commentary from each of us.

Matt's Cover of the Week - Green Lantern #39

Matt: It is certainly an eye-catching design of the lone Orange Lantern, Larfleeze. And I just love the use of the background, you just don't see that very often.

Eric's Cover of the Week - Wonderful Wizard of Oz #5

Eric: I like the mood and tone that Skottie Young created. The layout is nice as well and I love the orange background contrasting against the darker characters.

Kirk's Cover of the Week - Timestorm 2009-2099 #1

Kirk: I love the 'scratchy' feel of this piece. I actually thought this was by Skottie Young when I first looked at it, but it's by one Christopher Shy. First I've heard of him, but I look forward to seeing more of his work in the future.

Runners-Up: Punisher: Frank Castle MAX #69, Daredevil: Noir #1 & Wolverine: Weapon X #1

I can't wait to get my hands on GL. The preview looked bad-ass. It's weird, I was never really that into GL until recently. With the Batman and WW titles currently disastrous, it's the only thing to get excited about really.

I'm going with the WOZ cover. One of Young's best covers ever (and it's a guy whose covers are allways awesome)

The Exiles cover was pretty good too. Or maybe it's just because Blink has not been so hot since Madureira.

I just have to go with Green Lantern #39. I just love it. Oh, and Oracle: The Cure #1, but I think it's from last week.
