Cover of the Week was split between
Oracle: The Cure #1 and
Nova #23. Matt and I went with Oracle for much the same reasons - primarily the use of colours - while Eric went with Nova's new Quasar-look on the David Acuna drawn cover of Nova. Hit the jump for a look at the covers and runners-up.
MATT's & KIRK's PICK - ORACLE: THE CURE #1
Matt Says: Oracle sure is wearing a tight shirt in this cover. I'm not completely sure why I like this cover so much, but I do. I think it is the colours, which are beautifully rendered.
Kirk Says: Much like
Matt, I'm not sure why I particularly like this cover, but it definitely has something to do with the colours. It's also a very busy cover with lots of details in the background screaming for me to explore of the book.
ERIC's PICK - NOVA #23
Eric Says: Big fan of Daniel Acuna and this cover is definitely some of the best work I've seen from him. Love the colouring and effects, especially the energy circles around Richard's right hand and the star/cosmos pattern on his cape. I like how Richard takes up a good deal of the image and his costume isn't bad either.
Runners-Up: Guardians of the Galaxy #12, Captain America #48 & War Machine #4

Nice cover choices but my favorite was the Elektra #1 variant by Clay Mann.
Not all that bothered with the Oracle cover, given that half of the Birds Of Prey covers are all essentially variations of the same shot. Still, pretty colors!
