It's actually a fairly light week of reading for my first week back on the job here at the Weekly Crisis with only a handful of books coming out. The biggest release is probably Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds, but I'm actually more interested in checking out Jonathan Hickman's debut on Secret Warriors. FINAL CRISIS: LEGION OF THREE WORLDS #3 (OF 5)Written by Geoff Johns

The Legion of Super-Heroes call in the reinforcements against Superboy Prime and the Legion of Super-Villains as the Crisis of the 31st Century continues. While Superboy Prime comes face-to-face with the last of the Green Lanterns, Brainiac 5 and XS attempt to ignite an electrical storm using the lightning rod, which is destined to turn the tide of the war. And what are Polar Boy, Dawnstar and Wildfire up to in the 20th Century?
Kirk Says: It's been so long, I almost forget what happened in the first two issues of this series. Previews of this show a lot of Sodam Yat and it looks like the action could be ramping up to a rematch between he and Superboy Prime. Should be fun reading.
SECRET SIX #6Written by Gail Simone
Art by Nicola Scott and Doug Hazlewood
Featuring an "Origins and Omens" backup story! This is the big one! After Junior's horrifying unmasking last issue, the bruised and battered remnants of the Secret Six try to deliver their package to their mysterious benefactor in Gotham City, a city made even more dangerous by the notable absence of Batman. The only problem is a crowd of villains and heroes determined to block them every step of the way!
Kirk Says: I was hoping they wouldn't reflect the Batman RIP / Final Crisis status quo in this issue, as I'd love to see Catman and Batman face off again, but it looks like it's not meant to be.
Regardless, Secret Six is one of those books flying under most people's radars and one of DC's best, in my opinion. Well worth checking out if you're interested in something unique.

Kirk Says: Solicit says Hickman is teaming up with Bendis for this, but the credits only show Hickman as the writer. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what Hickman can do, as I've heard nothing but good things about him. I'm a big fan of Caselli's art, too, making this an easy pick for me this week.

Kirk Says: Cebulski seems to be hit and miss with me. Sometimes he delivers, other times I think he should stick to editing. Add in that the series of mini-series tie-ins to these Annihilation-like events are equally hit and miss and I'm a little iffy coming into this one.

I'm psyched for Secret Warriors a well. Looks great from the previews. Though my most anticipated comic is, hands down, Witchblade #124 this week :D
I believe Bendis developed Secret Warriors fully intending to write it, but the discovered he was doing too much so brought in Hickman to write it instead of him. But Marvel seems to want to make sure people know Bendis is involved in it, so they keep mentioning his name even though he isn't actually writing it. So its:

@Ampersand - i was thinking about it, but I didn't actually enjoy the first series, despite the positive reviews from most people. just wasnt my cup of tea, so I'll probably skip this new one.
After finally reading the "War of Kings" one-shot this past weekend, not realizing it was essentially another Annihilation storyline, my interest is picqued... though not enough to buy any of the other chapters yet.
Maybe Darkhawk will be the exception, though I keep asking, "Why Darkhawk?!" I recently read Darkhawk #25, and it was one of the most miserable origin stories I'd ever read, and any writer at Marvel who really wants to revisit this should be sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
The only way they'll get a good connection to Darkhawk's origin is if that pendant of his is a shard of either the Inhumans' terrigen crystals or a the Shi'Ar's M'Kraan crystal. Any revisitation of intergalactic mobsters, sentient spaceships & super-intelligent scientists living as hobos in amusement parks will turn this event into a laughing stock.

@Franco - My archives are a little out of date, so I'm not sure if I've reviewed anything past #16 or not, but I read the first issue of Dan Slott's run and I wasn't impressed enough to continue picking it up, especially with comics shooting up to $3.99 a pop in most cases.
