Marvel Comics Cover of the Year

Just came across this myself, but thought everyone else might want a quick heads up. Seems Marvel is putting on a Cover of the Year contest and is looking for nominations. Ya, I know, this is so 2007, but better late than never, right?

Everyone gets 5 nominations to pick any cover from the year 2007. Marvel has a nifty little nomination system setup that makes this a breeze to navigate the covers and automatically limits them to 2007 for you.

For reference, I choose Annihlation #6, What If? Annihilation and Planet Hulk, one of the New X-Men covers, issue 41 or there abouts (features the full team, was just before Messiah Complex by Skottie Young) and New Avengers: Illuminati #2 (Reed with the Infinity Gauntlet).

It ends on May 27th and brackets will be announced for fans to vote on once it's all said and done. Always enjoy these things, so thought I'd share the love. Enjoy and let me know what covers you guys picked!

Yeah, this was pretty fun. I chose the cover to Marvel Adventures Avengers #9 (The M.O.vengers!), Howard the Duck #1, Silver Surfer: Requiem #1, Sensational Spider-Man Annual #1 (the Salvador Larroca cover with MJ and Peter), and the special Spanish edition of Fantastic Four: Isla de la Muerte!

That was really fun to do. It's a shame that DC isn't trying anything like this.

I think DC's version would just turn into a 52 roll call for all the cover nominations or James Jean's Fables covers if they included Vertigo. That Black Adam on the throne cover was incredible.

Wow, awesome. I chose...

Cable and Deadpool #46 (Bucky and Deadpool on the cover)
Immortal Iron Fist #3 (Orson Randall in his WWII costume)
Nova #1
Daredevil #100 (Wraparound cover)
X-Factor #15 (Hydra Multiple Man)
