Ultimates 3 Preview

The recent issue of Previews has some new interior Ultimates 3 artwork by Joe Mad featuring Venom, Wasp, Gunman Extreme (yes, I made that name up, most likely it's Hawkeye) and what appears to be the actual Valkyrie (not the floosie from Ultimates 2). Regardless of how well this series turns out, at least the art will look good. While not the hyper realistic style that Bryan Hitch employed, Joe Mad does an excellent job with his manga influenced stlye. Of note, Venom actually retains the white spider symbol on his chest in these shots. In Ultimate Spider-Man, he has never had it aside from cover shots. Not sure if this is just Joe Mad not caring to research the characters or if Bendis signed off on it or if Loeb gave the okay along with the Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Thor and numerous other reversions to 616 likenesses.

Update - It has come to my attention that Venom received the white spider symbol in the Ultimate Spider-Man video game when he reassimilated some of Peter Parker's DNA. I never played it nor heard anything about it aside from the fact Silver Sable made her first appearance in it, so I was wrong to try and point out a flaw in its use without researching it myself.
