Cover of the Week - Punisher War Zone and Star Wars

It's time once again to shine a light on the very best Covers of the Week.  We've got one cover from right in the middle of an ongoing conflict between superheroes and another that's purportedly from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.  Look behind the cut to see these, as well as our honourable mentions.

Ken's Cover of the Week - Punisher War Zone #3 by Marco Checchetto

Ken: Thor is hitting a lot of people with his hammer this week, and the cover does a good job of showing what's happening in the series, which is the Avengers going after Frank one by one. You also have little things like Thor hitting with enough impact that it shows an indent on Frank.

Grant's Cover of the Week - Star Wars #1 by Alex Ross

Grant: Alex Ross always does brilliant covers, and his work here for Star Wars #1 is no exception.  The reflection and pairing of characters throughout this page looks great, and Darth Vader and the Empire's physical presence in the middle of it all, makes for a nice figurative demonstration of how central they are as an ongoing threat to the Rebel Alliance at the time where this story is set.  And, you know, it doesn't hurt that Brian Wood and Carlos D'Anda killed it on the story proper.

Runner-Ups:  Repossessed #1, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? #28, Savage Dragon #184
