Moment of the Day - This is For Nova Corps!

Nova vs Annihilus, as seen in Annihilation #6

It's been a long time coming, but today marks the first entry in the new Moment of the Day feature.  For those that missed the previous posts requesting feedback on the feature, the Moment of the Day will be a new feature that highlights a single moment from comics long since gone much in the same vein as the weekly Moments of the Week.

While today's entry sees one of the many jaw-dropping moments from the conclusion of the original Annihilation event in the form of Nova taking revenge on Annihilus for the fallen Nova Corps, who were wiped out at the onset of the Annihilation Wave, most of these Moment of the Day entries will be from strictly older comics to avoid more current spoilers.  This is just one of my favourite moments from several years back and I thought it made a great moment to kick these off.

A really great moment, and I love evolution of Richard Rider as a major leaguer since!

I know it's cliché for some writers to say any character can be great with the right creative team, but the Abnett/Lanning Nova is proof.

Hopefully both Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy will resume after Thanos Imperative.

Still one of the best event endings of all time. Who's going to top that, you know?

Honestly, each issue of Annihilation had a "moment." One of the greatest crossovers in comic book history.
