Cover of the Week - Fear Agent, Secret Avengers, & Power Girl

Welcome to another edition of Cover of the Week, where we take a look at some of the best covers from this week's delivery of comics, and a feature that is 100% completely free of Rod Blagojevich (unlike a certain convention going on this weekend). Hit the jump to see the winning covers.

Ryan L.'s Cover of the Week - Fear Agent #29 by Tony Moore

Ryan L.: There's something simple about this cover that easily draws me in. It's just a guy sitting at a bar and feeling sorry for himself but there's that something else. There's an x-factor and for all of the cool background and crazy bottles and guns all around him ultimately what I'm digging is the man himself. He's grizzled, he's alone, and he's just flat out awesome. There were some pretty cool covers this week but this one just got the jump.

Kirk's Cover of the Week - Secret Avengers #4 by Marko Djurdjevic

Kirk:  Cap donning Nova's helmet?  The moment I saw this cover in solicits many moons ago, I needed to read this issue.  Did Nova go down?  Was Cap going to become a Nova Corps member?  Even after reading the first three issues and having a general idea of what would occur in this issue, the cover still grabs me.

Matt's Cover of the Week - Power Girl #15 by Sami Basri

Matt: I know some covers are homaged so often that I get sick of them. Luckily, Sami Basri took a different path with this Power Girl cover, and referenced one of my favorite covers of all time, Excalibur #3. It doesn't hurt that Basri is a pretty good artist, and adds his own touches to the cover, such as the huge hole where Power Girl crashed.

Runner-Ups: Marvel Universe vs. The Punisher #2, New Avengers #3, Supergirl #55

Fear Agent didn't actually ship this week. Looks like its not shipping this week either. This sucks big time.

Marvel U versus Punisher was definitely an excellent cover.

@brandon: Good, cuz I was tripping out. "WTF I missed the new Fear Agent!?"

I KNEW that Power Girl cover looked familiar. Claremont/Davis Excalibur is excellent stuff.

The Secret Avengers cover is "Iconic"! Perhaps, Commander Rogers will be the one to save the MU from the Cancerverse as Ultimate Nova!

I don't even consciously remember that Excalibur, but as soon as I saw that cover I thought, 'What's the Juggernaut doing in Power Girl'?

Nice covers this week, I love the Secret Avengers Cover. For some reason I really like the Supergirl cover too. I also didn't immediately recognize the PG cover so thanks for putting that on here, I knew I'd seen something like it before.

I'm glad I pointed out the Excalibur/Power Girl connection, seeing as how it seems not everyone made the same connection until I mentioned it. We here at The Weekly Crisis love to share and inform!

And Fear Agent, Ryan probably used Dark Horse's catalog (as we normally do) and it happened to be outdated.
