Cover of the Week - The Marvelous Land of Oz #8

Ryan Lindsay and I both agreed on our pick for Cover of the Week this time around and the lucky winner was Skottie Young's Marvelous Land of Oz #8.  Hit the jump for a look at the beautiful cover and see why we chose it.

Ryan L. & Kirk's Cover of the Week - The Marvelous Land of Oz #8 by Skottie Young

Ryan L.: I know it's mostly the colours and tones that make this one pop but I can't take my eyes away from this cover. It's very bright and relatively simple but I love that this pose and sense of ascension is being placed on what I assume is one of those flying monkey creatures that I've always thought were wickedly creepy/cool. As usual, Skottie Young nails yet another cover. What a shock.

Kirk:  Going to have to agree with Ryan on this one.  I love the look of this cover.  It really makes me wish I was following along in singles instead of trade waiting this (the Wizard of Oz hardcover is beautiful, so I can't really complain too much about missing out as the wait will be more than worth it) because I really want to know what's happening inside this issue.  That's what a good cover does - it makes you want to read that book no matter what.

Runner-Ups: Red Mass For Mars #4, Azrael #10 & Amazing Spider-Man #638

Except for Quesada's bits (hello, inconsistency), the art on ASM this week was really fantastic. It's a shame it had to be paired up with such horrible, awful writing.

I loved the ASM cover this week, easily the best part of the book!!

@Kirk: Sorry, it's not a flying monkey. Having read the original book by Baum (they're all really good; just a lot of fun -- I'm so happy they're getting this pretty treatment in comic form), I got a little teary-eyed when I saw this cover. It's one of those good surprise moments that seems made for comics.

This is one of the most popular ways to conduct research.
It's the best approach to defend your property,

Hi! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few months of hard work due to no data backup.
Do you have any solutions to protect against hackers?
