AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #566
"Devil Man, Devil Man, dares whatever a devil can."
I'll admit it, I laughed at this. It's a shame the art is so brutal. His leg and back look broken and that background looks like someone took a cityscape image and spilled coffee on it.
BIRDS OF PREY #120
"I'm trying real hard not to put you in the hospital."
Ouch. Poor Kate. It's hard to believe Dinah can be so competent in the Birds of Prey book yet depicted as a dumb blonde token leader in all of her JLA appearances where she ends up deferring to the big 3 at every turn. Great to see her treated with some respect in at least one book. Always nice to see Manhunter, too. I might have to go pick this issue up now.
"Does Morrison know about this?"
Why is Joker appearing in Birds of Prey, Arkham Asylum, Manhunter and Batman RIP with neither book portraying him the same way? I'm not sure what's going on in Birds of Prey, but doesn't this completely contradict what's going on in Batman RIP and the new version of the Joker Morrison is building up? Is it simply to tie into the movie?
CAPTAIN AMERICA #40
"A knife to the ovary. Right to the baby maker."
That's a paraphrased Anchorman quote before anyone jumps on me for bad taste (it's probably still bad taste, but now it's funny!). This was the much talked about and quite graphic depiction of Sin's stabbing of Sharon Carter.
FINAL CRISIS: ROGUES' REVENGE #1
"They say it's a myth the human intestines can be stretched over twenty miles."
The only problem I have with this gruesome scene is the fact that Inertia, who is from the distant future, is still using the American English measurement system. I hoped they'd adopt the metric system by that point in time.
"You're going to be the new Kid Flash!"
Based on the previous moment, Zoom has his work cut out for him if he intends on making Inertia the best hero he can be.
I KILL GIANTS #1
"I find giants. I hunt gians. I kill giants."
How many 5th graders can claim to be this awesome? I love Barbara's conviction whenever she talks about her giant hunting ways. For some reason, I can't help but believe her claims.
"O-M-G!"
This was the scene I mentioned in my I Kill Giants review where Barbara tries to act like she doesn't care about the things all the other girls are interested in, but can't help but listen in and want to fit in with the others.
INCREDIBLE HERCULES #119
"Practice!"
Hercules, you are truly the greatest hero ever.
"Taste like chicken."
Best out of context panel or bestest out of context panel ever? For all you animal rights activists out there, you'll be happy to know that's actually a Skrull disguised as a coyote pup.
"He loves you."
Kly'bn is supposed to be the Skrull God, but there's nothing in the least bit unique about him. I imagine he'll be powerful as heck, but he should look good while beating the hell out of our gods. They should have put him in a robe and gave him a nice, shaggy beard.
MARVEL 1985 #3
"There's something on the roof!"
Man, I love the classic Lizard look. I can't remember the last time we've seen this Lizard. All I can remember is that generic 90's version that was running around for a while. It was "X-treme", to say the least.
For some reason, when I see this panel, all I can think of is that Simpsons' Halloween episode with the little goblin on the side of the bus.
MIGHTY AVENGERS #16
"SMACK CRACK WAKUMP"
Who makes up those sound effects? "Wakump"? For those wondering, that red smear in the bottom left panel is Elektra. I'm thinking she's probably dead this time. Someone get my pokin' stick so we's can make sure.
THE BATMAN STRIKES! #47
"I would have done it 35 minutes ago."
Preptime Batman AND a Watchmen reference. Doesn't get much better than that. This one page was almost enough to make me go out and pick up this Batman Strikes issue.
TRINITY #7
"The Avengers never would have let this happen."
From what I understand, as I'm not reading Trinity anymore, Krona is the big bad of this story and he has recently hatched from his cosmic egg prison. The JLA have the cosmic egg under 24 hour surveillance, but this issue's final page zoomed into the monitor to show the actual egg's location where the egg's monitoring devices have all been destroyed, as seen above.

You should read BoP. I started picking it up recently and its pretty good. Start with issue #118 as that's the issue that will start the next trade.
As for the Joker, I think Morrison is the only one person using his version. Every other one is going with the Classic Joker. Its strange but I guess it make sense on some level since people are probably more familiar with the Classic version.
Considering the remarkable similarity between their costumes - even down to the backwards red lightning bolt - I'd guess Zoom will actually be training Inertia to be his own new villainous sidekick. Most especially because Zoom is part of the new Society that's based around killing off heroes in a terrorist-cell-like way.
Zoom thinks causing tragedies in a hero's life causes the hero tobecome a better hero. He doesnt really have an "evil motivation" like other villains and you can see his thought process in how he explains Bart was trying to becomea better hero. I doubt he wants Inertia as a new villain sidekick and he probalby does want to make him a better hero to replace Bart.
Well yes, Larry, but you just solved the problem yourself - if Inertia becomes Zoom's sidekick, he will become a 'better hero' - doing the same thing that Zoom does, helping other heroes be better.
Hey, I've never read an issue of the Incredible Hercules (though maybe I should ...), but it appears it's mostly about him banging hot super-chicks and um ... quips. Is that it? If so, I definitely need to sign on. ;)
The Incredible Hercules is a lot more than that. It's a great book, you should check it out.
